bremen partnership award' 2004 under the patronage of Klaus Töpfer, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

 

Around the world, people are working on outstanding initiatives, business ventures, projects and technologies to tackle tomorrow's environmental challenges. With the 'bremen partnership award', under the patronage of Klaus Töpfer, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Federal State of Bremen, Germany, awarded a prize in 2004 for the best solutions worldwide in the environmental sector.

 

The 2004 international 'bremen partnership award' kicked off with 168 applications from around the world. A shortlist of seven finalists had been drawn up.

Patron Prof. Klaus Töpfer, Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Jens Eckhoff, Bremen's Senator of the Environment presented the winners of the 'bremen partnership award' 2004.

The 'bremen partnership award' was initiated by the Senator for Construction, Environment and Transport of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.The Bremer Aufbau-Bank GmbH, a company of the BIG Group (regional investment organisation), enabled the award due to their financial commitment. The prize was awarded in 2003 for the first time.

Under this banner we organised the first 'bremen partnership award' competition in 2001, which received 150 entries from all over the world. Their focus on partnership also forms the basic of our regional network 'partnerschaft umwelt unternehmen'.
